Our School Day

Here is a breakdown of the timings of our school day:

  • 8:45 am school day begins – Gates are open from 8.40am to allow children to make their way into class for registration. The gates close at 9.05am for registration for the start of the school day.
  • 10:30am -10:45am  KS1 break
  • 10:45am -11:00am  KS2 break
  • 11:45am -1:00pm   KS1 lunchtime
  • 12:15pm -1:00pm   KS2 lunchtime
  • 3:15pm end of school day – Children are to be collected from the gate at 3.15pm.

In September 2024, the Department for Education’s non-statutory guidance of the minimum expectation on the length of the school week of 32.5 hours for all mainstream, state-funded schools came into effect. The 32.5 hour minimum included lunchtimes and other breaks as well as teaching time and any enrichment activities that all pupils are expected to attend. It does not include optional before or after school provision. This means our school days are 6.5 hours in length.

Please make sure your child gets to school on time. Punctuality is important as arriving late disrupts your child’s education and they miss vital learning. Pupils who arrive late after the doors are closed should report to the main entrance and not try to gain admission elsewhere for safeguarding reasons. Pupils arriving late for school will be given a late card. Persistent lateness will be carefully monitored.
