I would like to introduce myself to the parents of the school and give you all a bit more information as to my role within the school as a member of the Board of Governors.
My name is Paul Wilson and I am currently a Local Authority appointed governor and also hold the position of Chair of the Governing Body. I have been a governor for the last 13 years having started as a parent governor for the first 6 years and then transferring to being a local authority governor when my youngest daughter left for high school. My day job is running Wilson Veterinary Group in Bishop Auckland and on the back of this I am the governor with the responsibility for Science. Additionally I am also the governor responsible for Pupil Premium as well as being on several sub committees, including Finance and Children and Curriculum.
Having seen Etherley Lane provide an excellent education to both of my daughters I remain committed to supporting the Head and the teaching staff to see other pupils given the same advantage going into their senior schools as my daughters obtained from attending Etherley Lane Primary School. I would hope that as parents you will be appreciative of the increased communication the school offers as well as providing a safe and secure learning environment for all pupils. I remain committed to supporting the management and teaching staff of Etherley Lane for the foreseeable future and hope that I can help make a positive difference to the education of all.
